BA Hons Psychology
£60-£70 per session
I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist, working with individuals who are often facing difficulties in their lives which they want to be able to share with someone trained to listen and focus on them. This can be short or long term.
An initial meeting can be arranged to talk through your situation, and work out what would be most helpful to you, to include if we would be able to work together.
I usually see people once weekly for 50 minutes, at the same time, in a space which is reserved for you. All sessions are strictly confidential.
I can offer a limited number of low fee places.
My qualifications and experience
I trained at Westminster Pastoral Foundation, a leading training provider.
I also have degrees in Psychology and Social Work from the Universities of Manchester and Liverpool.
I have considerable experience in work with adults and children, and as a senior manager in the public sector.
I recognise that it can be difficult to see a counsellor or therapist and I aim to develop a warm and trusting relationship, which is at the heart of my work. I try to create a safe space where people can explore their issues and feelings. The work often involves considering how past experiences shape our current lives, and how an understanding of these patterns can be used to help us manage emotional problems, and create new ways of thinking and behaving.
It is important to consider that the work can sometimes feel challenging, as difficult feelings emerge. However, it can also be a real relief to be able to share and develop understanding for yourself, and think through options you may have for change.
