My approach
My approach is person-centred, which means that your needs together with my skills will determine the way we work together. I integrate different levels of your understanding of the past, present and your future potentials. Making sense of who you are involves integrating difficult past experiences, including trauma and abuse, with current obstacles while weaving in your hopes for the future. Working together includes an exploration of relationship issues, emotions and memories, material and spiritual matters, and helping you to find a sense of balance and safety. My qualifications and experience I have a M.A. and a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling from Regent’s University. I am also a qualified accredited mediator in Alternative Dispute Resolution (Regent's University), a way to resolve disputes without going to court. My earlier training includes bereavement counselling with Cruse, and I am a trained mindfulness practitioner through BeMindful. My philosophy Originally from St. Paul, USA, I have been resident in London for over 30 years. My work with you involves making a connection between what goes on in the background of your thoughts and the obstacles and unhelpful perceptions made in your daily life. You are encouraged to talk about and understand your feelings, and to learn to distinguish between thoughts and fears enabling you to get a sense of your authentic and creative Self. I have helped clients work through anxiety and depression, panic attacks, personality disorders, as well as bereavement. The first session is an assessment where we can discuss any questions or concerns you may have, as well as expectations and hopes. |
