I operate a sliding scale according to time, ability to pay and the specialism.
As a qualified psychologist, I am trained in a number of different therapeutic approaches including CBT. I have specialist training in Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Systemic Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). However, I also ensure my work is flexible and client-centred, tailoring my approach to what I think each client will work best for each individual. I work with clients on both a short term and longer term basis.
My qualifications and experience
I gained an MSc in psychology in Croatia in 1991 and have been practising in the UK for over 15 years; this has included the various Mental Health Trusts in London where I held senior clinical positions as well as coordinated a multidisciplinary complex PTSD team. I also worked at the specialist trauma service in London from where I was invited to help develop the trauma service for the psychology department in Coventry. I also have experience of working in IAPT at the Maudsley clinic in London.
in addition to individual and group clinical work with patients, my roles in the NHS included service development, consultation with other professionals, liaising with families and non-statutory agencies, and providing supervision to staff and trainees. I am currently dedicated to my private practice.
Over the years, I have undertaken three further courses of specialist training, each lasting two years: Systemic Therapy (PG Cert, Kensington Consultation Centre, London), Cognitive Analytical Therapy (CAT) at St Thomas’s Hospital in London and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy with Sandi Richman.
I have expertise in, and a passion for, helping people recover from PTSD and trauma-related difficulty arising from adverse life experiences. I am also experienced in helping with difficulties arising from the way we relate to ourselves and others by recognising unhelpful underlying patterns of human behaviour; I can support you to make significant changes.
I am compassionate and curious about others and feel immensely privileged to be a part of someone’s journey to a recovery. As a professional, I take a holistic, transparent and collaborative approach while following the relevant research. My work is embedded in a belief that even the most adverse experiences can allow for growth. I believe in personal development and am dedicated to improving and understanding myself better, in order to understand others.
